Strategic Medical Brokers Promotes Kathy Mannino to Director of Operations

Strategic Medical Brokers (SMB), a premier healthcare-focused M&A advisory firm specializing in the confidential sale of medical, and healthcare-related businesses, is pleased to announce the promotion of Kathy Mannino to Director of Operations.

In her new role, Kathy will oversee day-to-day brokerage operations, lead workflow optimization initiatives, and drive the systems and processes that support SMB’s continued growth. She will report directly to Founder and Managing Partner, Shaun Rudgear.

Kathy joined SMB in 2024 as an Associate Broker and quickly became an invaluable member of the team. She took ownership of managing transactions from Letter of Intent through closing and developed key internal tools—including the SMB Transaction Tracker and Due Diligence Tracker—that have streamlined operations and improved visibility across the deal pipeline.

“Kathy has demonstrated exceptional judgment, initiative, and a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver a seamless client experience,” said Shaun, Founder and Managing Partner of SMB. “This promotion is a testament to the impact she’s already made, and I’m excited to see her continue to shape our operations as we grow.”

When asked about her new role, Kathy didn’t hesitate: “I’m going to kill it.”

Prior to joining SMB, Kathy built a strong foundation in program management and client success. She spent over four years at Saama, rising to Senior Manager of Client Success, where she led teams focused on milestone delivery and client outcomes. Earlier in her career, she honed her project management skills at BioClinica, progressing from Project Coordinator to Project Manager over nearly six years.

Shaun F. Rudgear MCBI, M&AMI, CEPA

Shaun graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Business, specializing in Real Estate. After earning his Arizona real estate broker's license in 1991, Shaun began an entrepreneurial journey that led him to co-own three medical practices, growing them from startup to nearly $3 million in gross revenue. Through these experiences, Shaun discovered his passion for healthcare business ownership and the unique challenges practice owners face. In 2017, when Shaun needed to exit his practices but was unsure of their value or the process, he recognized the gap in specialized expertise for medical practice transitions. This personal experience inspired him to establish Strategic Medical Brokers, where he now helps healthcare owners navigate the same crossroads he once faced, fully understanding that he has "walked in the shoes of his clients".
